A two-day Seminar-Workshop on the Conduct of Psychosocial Debriefing with GAD Perspective was conducted on August 10 – 11, 2020. It was participated by twenty-one (21) selected participants from both the administration and higher education departments. The purpose of the seminar was to develop Life Coaches who can assist persons who are suffering from severe stress and undergoing crises.
The first day of the activity was held at the College Library. The participants were warmly welcomed by the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, followed by an inspirational message from the College President, Dr. Eutiquio L. Rotaquio Jr. In his speech, he mentioned that the activity was very timely as the people in the community and in fact the whole nation and the entire world is tormented by the Covid-19 pandemic and other natural and man-made catastrophes that require effective responses to those who are affected. He also encouraged the participants to be very vigilant because it is not only the front liners who are expected to take appropriate action as needed in a crisis situation but also the people in the academe who are generally viewed as adept.
The introduction of participants was undertaken by the Director for Extension and Training Services, Prof. Ricardo G. Gonzales Jr. Before the Seminar-Workshop proper started, a Pre-Training Evaluation was carried out by the secretariat after which Industrial Technology Director, Prof. Antonio D. Bolivar III had taken the lead as facilitator for the morning’s session.
The afternoon session was a continuation of the workshop which was made possible by the abled Guest Speaker, Dolores Salvacion F. Tolentino, RGC. The topic on Psychological Support was the focus of her discussion wherein some significant points mentioned were the importance of addressing psychological health and safety in the organization; and the possible actions that can be taken in order to respond to actual or potential concerns regarding psychological support for individuals who need it.
The first day of the seminar-workshop ended with a Post-Training Evaluation conducted by the secretariat while the second day was a scheduled walk-through at the quarantine area at Brgy. Nonong Sr., San Luis, Aurora.
