To equip the faculty, staff and students with the knowledge and skills on Organic Farming System and for the purpose of converting the farm area in Bazal Campus into an Integrated Organic Farm that will showcase different technologies in organic farming system, the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center III (DA-ATI RTC III) in partnership with ASCOT conducted a Seminar on Integrated Organic Farming
System with a brief orientation on E-learning Courses last January 28, 2016 at ASCOT Bazal Campus, Maria Aurora, Aurora.
The activity was one of the initiative of the Organic Agriculture Program in Region III through RA 10068 also known as the Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 which main objective is on promoting community-based organic agriculture systems through nationwide educational and promotional campaign for the adoption of organic agriculture system.
The training course which was attended by faculty, staff and students of the Department of Agriculture included a course discussion on Eco-Feminism and Principles on Organic Agriculture (RA 10068) handled by Mr. Mario A. Lapitan, TCS-1, ATI-RTC3 and Integrated Diversified Organic Farm System with hands-on activity on the actual production of nature’s farming inputs and Vermi-culture and vermicomposting under the tutelage of Ms. Zarah Jane R. Nazar, DMO-1, ATI-RTC3.
