Starting the year on track, the college held a short seminar entitled “Repositioning the mindset of the youth towards entrepreneurship”, last January 4, 2017 at the Audio Visual Room, ASCOT Zabali Campus.
Truly, there is no better time to review the tasks to be done for the year than to do it right before the journey. That’s why on the opening of the college by January, first task at hand is to reignite the engine of the college employees.
Sharing her expertise is no less than a degree holder of Doctor of Philosophy in Business Admistration, a member of faculty of Administration in Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, an Auroran, Prof. Erlina Dionco Adetayo.
The event is a refresher of sort, getting back to the drawing board to review the College’s game plan. The event aims to further boost the drive of the faculty and staff in achieving the goals of the college. The event also served as a venue in sharing ideas, experiences and best practices, that showed the president herself asking questions together with the two vice presidents who were also present on the event.
Prof. Erlinda talked about the mindset of youth today, and different culture and practicces between the Philippines and Nigeria, especially in the context of education. She stressed the importance of roles that every college official plays in the development of the college and its product- students.
Her encouragement was strong, that as disciples of the academe , employees must think like an entrepreneur.
“We are entrepreneurs and our product are the graduates. Therefore, we must think like entrepreneurs would think. Entrepreneurs offer new flavor, new strategies, new solutions. They always have something new, something good to offer. -Prof. Erlina Dionco Adetayo, Ph.D ”
