Community Outreach Program of ASCOT Education Students

Aiming to develop and deepen the sense of community awareness on the different concerns, needs and issues that affect the lives of people, classes under Mr. Ricardo Gonzales on Politics and Governance with Philippine Constitution (SocSci 102) regularly engage in community outreach programs where they take the opportunity to maximize their full potentials to become productive citizens.

Inspired by the saying “When you share, you were blessed”, the 2nd year BEED/BSED group headed to Ditumabo, San Luis, Aurora last May 3, 2013 for the conduct of the activity where they personally met their beneficiary, the Habagat Family. The family resides in a small nipa hut beside the public cemetery in Ditumabo, where Mrs. Erlinda Habagat solely raised her five children amidst all the trials and challenges life brings.

The group delighted the family with song and dance numbers not just to entertain them but to bring them new hope. Grocery gift packs and a sack of rice were also given to the Habagat Family.

Ms. Erlinda Habagat was in tears while extending their heartfelt gratitude to the group for choosing them and for all the blessings they received that day.

Mr. Gonzales also proudly shared that the same activity was also conducted in Dibut, Casiguran, Canili and in the Aurora Provincial Jail. (CPanlilio)
