Geared towards upgrading the proficiency of IT Instructors in integrating mobile and wireless computing to its curriculum, the Information Technology Instructors undergo a two-day Training on BlackBerry Academic Program organized by the Department of Information Technology through its partnership with the Philippine BlackBerry Development Group, the only Research in Motion sanctioned developer community in the Philippines through its BlackBerry Academic Program.
According to Mr. Christopher G. Marmol, Information Technology Department Director, the training aimed to improve the teaching of Mobile and Wireless Computing (IT 303) by equipping the teachers with new skills on developing mobile applications. The introduction to Developing Applications for BlackBerry Smartphones equipped the teachers with skills to implement the teaching of this new subject.
The training was conducted last February 16-17, 2013 on Computer Laboratory 4, ASCOT, Baler, Aurora were Instructors were trained by Mr. John Bibal II and Mr. Pete Angelo Doligosa on the fundamentals of BlackBerry Development including development of simple mobile phone applications. This workshop also gives the Instructors an opportunity to experience developing applications using the BlackBerry 10 WebWorks Software Development Kit.
As a part of the program, the Department also receives two new BlackBerry Bold 9900, compliments of the PinoyBBDev Group. (C. Panlilio)
