ASCOT Students Attend National Youth
Seminar-Workshop on Building Leaders

Thirty student leaders along with OSS Director, Dr. Amelia A. Picart and SCSC Advisers, Prof. Lolita H. Dela Cruz and Prof. Rufina I. Talavera participated in the National Youth Seminar-Workshop on Building Leaders through Service organized by the Research and Educational Development Training Institute (REDTI). The workshop with this year’s theme “Connecting Students in a Disconnected World” were held last November 27-29, 2013 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City and were attended by student leaders around the country.


The activity aims to orient the student officers in their roles, duties and responsibilities as leaders in preparing their organization’s development plans while encouraging coordination and promoting camaraderie among them.

ASCOT participants composed of SCSC officers, Organization Presidents, and selected classroom officers, were given the opportunity to learn and hear inputs from Dr. Adela C. Beringuela of UP Manila and Dr. Percy A. Lubrica of Benguet State University. Dr. Beringuela’s talk focused on Servant Leadership for Students and Easy to Execute Projects that will benefit the Campus and the Community while Dr. Lubrica discussed the Student Leadership: A Positive Force for Change and facilitated the Workshop on Planning and Conducting Service Project.
