ASCOT Professors Visit to Bangkok and Vietnam

Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan, Dr. Amelia A. Picart and Dr. Evi Q. Fontanos were part of the GEACCUP 3 delegation that recently travelled to Thailand to conduct an Educational Tour and Benchmarking activity last May 21-25, 2013.

They visited the Assumption University at Suvarnabhumi Campus where they had the opportunity to meet with the school administrator and discussed with them the history, programs and practices of the University.

Another visit was to the Kasem Bundit University where participants had a detailed presentation on the history, mission and vision, programs and policies of the University.

The group also had a Bangkok City Tour where they visit the Gems Gallery, the world’s biggest jewelry store and the chance to experience the tranquility in the famous Golden Buddha Temple.

On the other hand, Prof. Lolita H. Dela Cruz joined the other SUCTEA officers on their trip to Vietnam last April 28 – May 1, 2013.

The group visited the Vung Tau Kiddie Group International where they saw facilities, observed how classes were conducted and had the chance to meet and talked with the School Directress who discussed with them the different programs they offer.

Their Vietnam trip also included a Saigon City tour where they witnessed the astonishing products of handicapped people in Handicapped Handicrafts where they are given time to observe persons with disabilities (PWDs) while at work. The group also visited the Tang Chung Tich Chen Thani War Remnants Museum, a war museum that exhibits the American phase of the Vietnam War.

Activities like these aimed to enhance the management practices of State Colleges and Universities in Region 3 and to adapt the successful practices of other Universities in Asia necessary for the delivery of best service to its clienteles. (CPanlilio)
