As part of its mandate to give quality and excellent services to its stakeholders as one of the rising Higher Education institutions (HEI) in the country, the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) is now Institutionally Accredited Level 1 by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

ASCOT was one of the four SUCs in the Philippines that was institutionally accredited by the accrediting body together with the West Visayas State University, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Tarlac State University, and Pangasinan State University given during the 2nd Virtual National Conference of the AACCUP held last March 9 to 11. The said assembly was a part of the yearly assembly of various representatives, heads, and presidents from different SUCs in the Philippines.

According to Mrs. Annie R. Capin, ASCOT’s Quality Assurance Office Director, this accreditation is an indicator that the College passed the nine standards and qualifications in terms of managing various services the College provides to its stakeholders.

In addition, she also added that the courses the College offer now, don’t need to undergo Preliminary Survey Visits. Instead, the College’s Internal Accreditors are the ones who will now serve as evaluators of the readiness of the programs that will serve as their basis in recommending them to have the Level 1 Accreditation.

Meanwhile, the College President – Dr. Eutiquio L. Rotaquio, Jr. stressed that this step is one of the initial steps to attain the College’s dream of becoming a university in the coming years. He also mentioned that this accreditation status will encourage more students to have their education in ASCOT, add more program offerings, and increase the quality of education in the College and in the province.

It can be recalled that last year, the College also passed the ISO 9001:2015 certification in terms of its administrative and research services. ASCOT was also able to pass the 1st Survey for Level 3 in its Forestry, Agriculture, and Teacher Education programs.
