The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) led the inauguration of the Typhoon-Resilient Vertical Indoor High-Value Crop Production using Alternative Energy at Brgy. Bacong, San Luis, Aurora, April 22.

Gracing the launching of the said joint DOST-ASCOT project were the DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña and Regional Director Julius Caesar V. Sicat. The distinguished guests from the said agency were warmly welcomed by the College President, Dr. Eutiquio L. Rotaquio, Jr. together with the Engineering Department Director, Engr. Amarlo Banania, faculty members, and staff.

Vertical farming involves growing crops in layers piled vertically. It generally includes soilless farming and controlled-environment agriculture.
