for Education and the 12th National Conference on Information Technology Education in Crown Regency, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan, Philippines last October 23-25, 2014.
IT Educators from ASCOT have participated in the recently concluded 1st International Symposium on Computing for Education – 12th National Conference on Information Technology Education Back to Back Conference organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators Foundation, Inc.(PSITE) which was held at Crown Regency, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan last October 23-25, 2014.

This year’s event was the first PSITE international symposium with emphasis on computing for education. The importance of integrating modern technology in today’s classroom settings and the impact of this advancement of technology in changing the way how students learn today was highlighted during the plenary sessions were Affect Computing and Gamification of Instruction, Technologies for Teaching and Learning and Innovations on Instruction Delivery were discussed.

The ASCOT personnel who joined this year’s grandest IT event were Mr. Christopher G. Marmol, Engr. Mayreen V. Amazona, Mr. Joseph T. Gonzales, Engr. Godfrey B. Gudoy, Mr. Sherwin B. Glorioso and Ms. Cristelita A. Panlilio.

Plenary speakers from the academe and private sectors discussed relevant topics on the different field of Information Technology and Information Systems such as Mobile Applications and Networked Systems, Software Utilities and Multimedia Systems and Game Development. Furthermore, topics on Computer Science like Computer Graphics, Animations and Visualization, Computer Security and Cryptography, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Image Processing, Modeling and Simulation were also presented during the conference.

The event which served as an avenue for exchanging innovative ideas, approaches, developments and research projects in the areas of Information Technology and Information Technology Education was participated in by researchers, faculty, IT administrators and IT practitioners from different HEI’s all over the country.
