April 4-5, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) hosted the State Colleges and Universities Faculty Association Region III (SCUFAR III) Regular Monthly Meeting after a 12-year hiatus of hosting the meeting.

Representatives, faculty regents, trustees and sports/ cultural coordinators from the 12 state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the region convened at the ASCOT Accreditation Hall, Zabali Campus, Baler to coordinate efforts for the upcoming SCUFAR III Sports and Cultural festival.

During the gathering, Sir Godfrey Gudoy, serving as President, of the ASCOT non-teaching personnel associations of ASCOT (ANTPA) and Vice President of ASCOT Faculty and Staff Association (AFSA), provided a captivating historical overview of the college. He shared old photographs from the SCUFAR meeting held 12 years ago, where he was also the ASCOT Faculty Association (AFA) President , offering insights into the college’s journey and evolution over the years.

“The success of SCUFAR III hinges on our collective collaboration,” emphasized Ms. Jocelyn Diaz, AFSA and AFA President.
Over the two-day meeting, participants discussed various aspects of the upcoming festival, including logistics, registrations, venues, scheduling, and other necessary arrangements. The event served as a platform for fruitful collaboration and planning, laying the groundwork for a successful SCUFAR III festival.

ASCOT’s hosting of the SCUFAR III meeting signifies the college’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation and advancing the goals of the academic community.

*The SCUFAR 3 is organized to develop camaraderie among the SUC employees of Region III thereby creating avenue for mentoring, benchmarking, updating, and addressing concerns affecting the members’ welfare.
