On October 08, ASCOT live-streamed the general orientation for freshmen and transferees. Vice President for Academic Affairs Evi Q. Fontanos, Ph.D. welcomed the students. VP Fontanos told students that this general orientation is a way for the students to know who to turn to for their varying concerns.
Vice President for Planning and Finance Forester Michelle A. Resueño also welcomed the students on behalf of College President Eutiquio L. Rotaquio Jr., PhD. Department directors and their representatives presented each of their departments. Faculty were introduced, programs were discussed, and an overview of what life in each department was shown. There were even testimonies from their graduates. Contact persons, numbers, and e-mail addresses were shared. This is for the students to easily communicate their concerns to their respective departments.
Offices such as the Guidance and Counseling, Research and Extension, Library, Information Communication, and Technology Center, Gender and Development, Social-Cultural, Student Affairs, and Services, and Registrar gave an overview of their offices. They each explained what their office stands for and their role in a student’s college life.
The general orientation lasted for 5 hours. Students actively participated.
