Aurora State College of Technology hosted a virtual information campaign and career orientation last July 08 via Zoom and Facebook live. All incoming first-year students, transferees, and graduate students were invited to the event. Interested participants were asked to fill out a form via a google form.
SWDK Director, Glenda M. Nad led the opening prayer. It was followed by the national anthem. Dr. Eutiquio L. Rotaquio Jr., Ph.D., our College President gave very moving opening remarks.
The admission process was discussed in length by the College Admission Officer, Mark Lester G. Cunanan. SAS Director Von Gerald D. Macose introduced the Office of Student Affairs. He shared how the office can help aspiring students of ASCOT get scholarships and such to help them during their college years. ASCOT recognizes that there are a handful of students that did not come from a privileged background, thus the college offer assistance.
Presentation of the Departments of ASCOT came after. There were a total of 11 presentations. Sir Jester S. Leander and Sir Jeffrey S. Susada both from the Department of Arts and Sciences presented the Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management respectively. Dr. Rio Ylar G. Madrid, Ma’am. Mancy Lota, and Ma’am Karmina B. Valete from the Department of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences presented gave a background of the department, fisheries, and marine biology respectively. It was also Ma’am Valete who presented for the Education Department. Sir Ericson Coracero gave an overview of the Department of Forestry. Sir Antonio D. Bolivar III presented the Department of Industrial Technology. Sir King Alvin Grospe and Sir Joseph Pimentel were the representatives of the Department of Information Technology. Sir Alking Gorospe, Ph.D. presented for the Department of Engineering. Lastly, for the Graduate Studies, Sir Jay M. Amon, Ph.D. presented.
After the presentations, there was an open forum in which prospective students asked several questions. The queries of the prospective students were answered. The prospective students were advised to follow the Aurora State College of Technology Facebook page for announcements. Director Macose gave the closing remarks.
This event aimed to give prospective ASCOT students a glimpse of what the college has to offer.
