The Department of Engineering headed by their Director, Dr. Oscar C. Barawid, welcomes their students through virtual orientation held last September 10-11, 2020 with the theme “Engineering Welcomes New Normal Challenges in Delivering Quality Instruction” held at General Education Building, Zabali Campus.
The first day is for the orientation of first year students while second day is for old students. The department decided to go live on Facebook so that most of the students can watch the program live or they can view it later at their convenient time. For the orientation of first year students, the program started with an invocation followed by the singing of national anthem. The members of the faculty have their introduction one by one led by the civil engineering area, followed by mechanical engineering area, electrical engineering area, and by the allied faculty from department of arts and sciences.
The second part of the program is the vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, giving words of advice. He addressed the hindrance brought by the ongoing pandemic. He also thanked s parents and guardians for continuing their support to the students in their endeavors to achieve their goals in their lives.
The 2-day virtual orientations aims to orient and welcome new students. It is a way for students to meet other students, become familiar with campus services, rules and regulations, etc.
