April 15, 2024- Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT), in collaboration with Central Luzon State University (CLSU), conducted a sharing of best practices for student services. Key officials and representatives from different ASCOT schools, along with personnel from Student Affairs, Health Services, and the Human Resources Management Unit, attended the activity.
Leading the discussion were ASCOT Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan, and the Director of Student Affairs Services, Dr. Alma S. Bayudan, along with Dr. Jennifer De Jesus from CLSU’s Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Leisure Studies, and Dr. Irene G. Bustos, Dean of CLSU’s Office of Student Affairs.
In a brief interview with Dr. Bayudan, she mentioned, “Idea ni President Reyes na magkaroon ng sharing of best practices regarding student services. Maganda na malaman natin ang practices ng ibang institution like CLSU na maaari nating ma-adopt dito sa ASCOT.”
The dialogue focused on student development, including career guidance, sports initiatives, health services, and the refinement of disciplinary protocols. Representatives from ASCOT schools and units shared their respective student activities, fostering a collaborative environment for idea exchange.
Moreover, the event provided a platform to discuss student scenarios and cases, facilitating the exploration of appropriate actions and solutions.
ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes concluded the event with his closing remarks, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to enhancing student experiences and support services. “It’s time for us to sit down and review, fix, and revise our manuals. Ayusin natin ang guidelines and policies. Kapag naayos natin ito, gusto ko rin na maging institutionalized at maging functional, para maging functional ang mga serbisyong binibigay natin sa mga estudiyante pati na rin sa mga faculty and staff,” President Reyes said.
