A commencement marks the beginning of students’ new lives in the world, the beginning of their professional life ASCOT holds its 29th Mid-Year Commencement Exercise with the theme “ASCOT Graduates: Transforming Lives, Empowering Communities” on February 10, 2020 at the ASCOT Gymnasium, Baler, Aurora. A total of fourty-seven (47) ASCOTians were conferred their respective degrees and certificates from different academic programs across three (3) campuses of ASCOT.
The Guest of Honor and Commencement Speaker, Dr. JHONAMIE MABUHAY-OMAR, Dean, College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences of Western Philippines University inspired and lifted the cognizance not only of the graduates but also the members of the faculty and staff and the families of the graduates on her commencement address that is centered on the event’s theme. Dr. Omar stressed that we must not just react on the circumstances that we’re facing but we have to act as well.
ASCOT President, Dr. Rotaquio led the distribution of diplomas and certificates to the graduates. And to complete the ceremony is the Pledge of Loyalty to the Alma Mater and the induction of the graduates to the ASCOT Alumni Association headed by the President of the Graduating Class of 2018 and the Alumni President respectively. The program concluded with the singing of the Graduation Song “A Million Dreams” and the ASCOT Hymn.
