ASCOT President with the AACCUP Accreditors Team

The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) conducted a Preliminary Survey Visit on the six Academic Programs of ASCOT, two of which are under the Graduate Studies School and four are Undergraduate Programs, May 27-30, 2013.

The accreditation survey visit started with an opening program where Prof. Eriberto C. Rivera, VPAA and Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, College President welcomed the AACCUP Accreditors who were later introduced by Prof. Marina S. Quesada, Team Leader. The introduction of Key College Officials and the Task Force/Committees of Accreditation followed. Thereafter, the accreditors proceed to the respective accreditation centers where programs under survey are hosted for gathering of information, observation, and evaluation.

The AACCUP Survey Team was headed by Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, Executive Director and Survey Consultant with Prof. Marina S. Quesada as the Team Leader who also evaluated the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Bachelor in Elementary Education programs. The members include Dr. Allen U. Bautista from the University of Rizal System who reviewed the Master in Management and Bachelor of Secondary Education, Dr. Helen F. Delos Santos of Philippine Normal University who assessed the Master of Arts in Education, Dr. Leoncio M. Matibag of Southern Luzon State University who evaluated the Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Mr. Jimson L. Lamarroza and Ms. Fe Teresita T. Luzano, both from AACCUP who checked the degrees in Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education respectively.

The mentioned programs were evaluated in ten areas including mission, goals and objectives; faculty; curriculum and instruction; students; research; extension and community involvement; library; physical facilities; laboratories and administration.

An exit conference was conducted where the accreditors presented their findings as to the strengths, areas that needs improvement and recommendations to the programs evaluated. The survey culminated with the closing program where Prof. Marina S. Quesada highlighted the overall impressions and comments on the programs under survey which was responded to with words of commitment by the College President, Dr. Eusebio V. Angara. (CPanlilio)
