Ensuring that the College’s faculty members and students possess the necessary knowledge and skills in using Google Classroom as a Learning Management System (LMS) to be used in their online classes, the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) conducted a Faculty and Students Training on the Use of LMS/Online Educational Platform via Zoom, February 28.

Discussing important topics on effectively using LMS to cope with the new normal mode of education, Mr. Don Sean Arvie V. Buencamino, Director of the Distance and Online Learning Department, served as the Resource Speaker for the said training.

Mr. Buencamino informed the participants, composed of faculty members for the morning session and students for the afternoon session, about the things they need to know regarding the basics and examples of different LMS, Gmail, Google Chrome, Google Classroom LMS, and Google Workspace.

After the discussion proper, Mr. Buencamino also answered some questions and clarifications sent by the participants thru the Zoom Chatbox about the topics discussed during the Question and Answer portion.

During the Opening Program, our College President, Dr. Eutiquio L. Rotaquio, Jr., and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. RB J. Gallego, graced the event after giving the welcome remarks and message, respectively. The two emphasized the importance of conducting events like this to fully-equipped both the teachers and students in using LMS for a more efficient teaching and learning process amidst the pandemic.
