Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) is a public higher education institution located in Baler, Aurora, Philippines. Established on December 30, 1993, through Republic Act No. 7664. ASCOT was founded to provide technical and professional training in various fields, including sciences, arts, teacher education, agriculture, engineering, and technology, as well as short-term vocational courses.

Campus Life

ASCOT is committed to fostering a vibrant academic community that emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and community engagement. The college continuously endeavors to maximize the utilization of available resources to become a center of academic excellence and a bastion of technology in the province.

Campuses

The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) operates four campuses across the province of Aurora. The main campus, located in Zabali, Baler, serves as the central hub for academic and administrative activities. About 16 kilometers away, the San Luis Campus functions as a satellite extension. The Bazal Campus in Maria Aurora, approximately 36 kilometers from the main campus, focuses on agricultural education, where various crops are cultivated and native animals are raised. The Esteves Campus in Casiguran, around 118 kilometers from Zabali, extends ASCOT’s reach to the northern coastal areas, promoting inclusive access to higher education.

Mandate

ASCOT is mandated to:

  • Provide technical and professional training in the sciences, arts, teacher education, agriculture, engineering, and technology.
  • Offer short-term vocational courses.
  • Promote research, advanced studies, and academic leadership in its areas of specialization.

Majors and Degrees

The college offers 27 undergraduate and 1 graduate program through its 10 academic schools: Law, Agriculture, Aquatic Science, Education, Forestry, Arts and Sciences, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, and Industrial Technology.

ASCOT offers the following undergraduate programs:

      • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in 17 fields, including Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Information Technology, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Accountancy, Fisheries, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Agriculture (with majors in Animal Science and Crop Science).

      • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science

      • Bachelor in Industrial Technology, with majors in Automotive, Civil, Electrical, and Food Technology

      • Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) with majors in English, Filipino, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies

      • Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd)

      • Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) with majors in Home Economics and ICT

       Additionally, the university offers non-degree undergraduate programs across 5 schools, including:

      • Diplomas, Associates, and Certificates in fields such as Forestry Technology, Agricultural Science, Engineering Technology (Automotive, Civil, Electrical), Food Technology, and Computer Technology (1–3 years in duration)

Facts about ASCOT

As of 2025…

  • Twelve (12) international seminars/webinars were facilitated, organized, and co-organized.
  • Two (2) college officials served as conference moderators.
  • Nine (9) college officials attended the International Conference on Blue Economy at IPB University, Bogor, Indonesia.
  • Ten (10) faculty members presented research papers in Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, and China.
  • The College President participated in a study tour at the University of Hawaii to explore future academic collaborations.
  • College officials visited Bogor and Jakarta, Indonesia, for research linkages with SEAMEO BIOTROP, Academic collaboration and conference on Blue Economy at IPB University, including MoU signing, and courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta
  • Four (4) faculty and staff members and eight (8) students participated in the International Cultural Exchange at the KPRU International Youth and Arts Festival, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University, Thailand.
  • Fourteen (14) Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and twenty-six (26) Memorandum of Agreement (MoAs) were established for national linkages and partnerships.
  • Fifteen (15) extension programs are active in partnership with LGUs, industries, NGOs, NGAs, SMEs, and other stakeholders.
  • Six (6) Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) have been granted for the following programs in BS in Tourism Management, BS in Hospitality Management, BS in Environmental Science, BS in Fisheries, BS in Accountancy, and BA in Political Science
  • Two (2) bachelor-level Teacher Education Programs are Level III Accredited.
  • Nine (9) new research centers have been established.
  • Research accomplishments include: 20 completed research projects, 20 research presentations, 16 publications, 25 ongoing research projects, 4 research utilization initiatives, 2 research collaborations
  • There are 2,875 student scholars.
  • ASCOT maintains a shelter in Sitio Bulos, Dinadiawan, Dipaculao.
  • There are 29 contributions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
