ASCOT faculty and alumna, Ms. Kristine Rose B. Corrales, L.AGR., was honored as the Provincial Rural Women Farmer Awardee during the Araw ng Agrikultura on February 16, 2024.

The award recognizes Corrales for her outstanding contributions to the empowerment of women in agriculture. As part of the Aurora Day celebration organized by the Provincial Government of Aurora, the event acknowledges the significant achievements and contributions of individuals and groups in the agricultural sector.

“First, I am forever grateful to the God of Victory for this recognition as an Outstanding Young Women Rural Farmer. Maraming Salamat po to everyone behind this acknowledgement, including my 4-H family in the municipality of Maria Aurora and the entire province of Aurora. Salamat po for providing the opportunity to showcase the capabilities of young women in agriculture. It is a great honor, and long live the women farmers.” Ms. Corrales.

In addition to her well-deserved award, Ms. Corrales is a distinguished alumna of ASCOT. She previously served as the President of the 4-H Club at the ASCOT Bazal Campus and later held the position of Student Trustee. Eventually, she ascended to the presidency of the ASCOT Supreme College Student Council during the academic year 2021-2022. Following her licensure in agriculture, she was honored as a DAYLA Awardee in the Community Category and currently serves as an Instructor I in the School of Agriculture and Aquatic Science at ASCOT.
