May 19, 2026 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) officially opened the week with a flag ceremony held at the ASCOT Gymnasium bringing together faculty members, staff, and key officials in a gathering that highlighted the institution’s continuing pursuit of quality, innovation, and global recognition.
Hosted by the ASCOT Quality Assurance Unit, the ceremony became more than a regular Monday assembly as the unit presented its accomplishments and ongoing initiatives that continue to strengthen the college’s academic and institutional standards. Among the highlights discussed were the successful ISO 9001:2015 Re-certification conducted in December 2025, and the growing role of the Quality Assurance Unit in ASCOT’s accreditation efforts.
The unit also introduced its members and emphasized their contributions in sustaining ASCOT’s culture of excellence. At present, ASCOT has seven programs with Level III Accreditation, five programs with Level II Accreditation, and two programs under candidate status — a reflection of the institution’s steady commitment to quality education and continuous improvement.
Adding to the announcements, ASCOT Library Services officially launched the celebration of Library Access Week from May 19 to 22, 2026, encouraging students and employees to maximize learning resources and strengthen reading and research engagement within the campus community.
The ceremony also highlighted ASCOT’s growing international presence through its latest global recognition. ASCOT secured Rank 337 worldwide in the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), placing the institution among the Top 500 innovative universities across the globe.
One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was the recognition of the individuals and teams behind ASCOT’s remarkable performance in the 2026 WURI Rankings. According to Mr. Joseph T. Gonzales, Director of the International, External, and Alumni Services Office, ASCOT recorded the second highest number of entries in Region III that were recognized among the Top 100 in the WURI rankings. Out of 20 entries, 18 successfully ranked among the Top 100 in their respective categories.
