May 16, 2024- The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) hosted a benchmarking activity with a delegation from President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU), led by President Roy N. Villalobos, DPA.
PRMSU President Villalobos and team, also participants in the AZURE event, made a courtesy visit to ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes before a benchmarking activity. They discussed future collaborations, emphasizing cooperation over competition. President Reyes outlined ASCOT’s plans for faculty development, smart classrooms, a marine station, dormitories, and research laboratories, all aiming for internationalization.
Both presidents shared best practices in staff recruitment and growth, encouraging further collaborations in research and extension.
President Reyes concluded by expressing his passion for leading an academic institution, emphasizing the joy of sharing knowledge and skills with a diverse group of people. He views his presidency at ASCOT as a sacrifice but aims to leave a lasting legacy. “Ang pagiging presidente ko dito sa ASCOT ay isang malaking sakripisyo, sa kabila nito, gusto kong makapag-iwan ng legacy, iyon ang edukasyon at teknolohiya na maibibigay ng ASCOT sa komunidad.”
The PRMSU team included Ms. Cecilia Gaison, OSA Director; Ms. Chryssa Delos Reyes, Head HRMO; Ms. Grace Villalobos, HR Officer; Mr. Reygar Reyes, Admin Officer; and Mr. Gilbert Escoreal, University Dentist.
This benchmarking event marks the beginning of a promising partnership between PRMSU and ASCOT, aimed at enhancing educational standards and research capabilities.
