On the day of celebration of his 43rd birthday, the College President, Dr. Eutiquio L. Rotaquio, Jr., lead the inauguration and blessing ceremony of the newly-constructed three-storey Male Dormitory and the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Sciences’ Charcoal Briquetting Technology Laboratory at the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) Zabali Campus, April 15.

Reverend Father Miguel Floro Avenilla, Parish Priest of Baler, led the dormitory’s blessing and was also attended by some College Officials, academic directors, faculty members, and staff.

Aiming to give ASCOTIANs a comfortable place to stay during their years of study in the College, Architect Emil Nelius Sindac Jr. designed the said dormitory and constructed it through the collaborative effort of the College’s Infrastructure Team headed by Engr. Jerome Galam, Engr. Christopher Paladio, the Inspectorate Team, and the Physical Plant and Site Development Office (PPSDO).

In a Facebook post, President Rotaquio also expressed his gratitude and thanks to Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Evi Q. Fontanos, Vice President for Planning and Finance Forester Michelle A. Resueño, the College’s Procurement Planning and Management Officer Mrs. Dolores Salvacion Tolentino, the College Accountant Mam Pau Fabregas, the College’s former Budget Officer Mam Melita Amatorio, the PPSDO staff and office headed by Dr. Jose L. Sanchez, the Department of Arts and Sciences Director Mam Zenaida A. Exclamado, and the IGP Coordinator Mam Mardelyn Barrogo for initiating and making this momentous event a reality. He also thanked the Alumni Association President Hon. Claret S. Valenzuela, the Student Council President Mr. Jordan R. Fajardo, and the Graduate Students President Mr. BJohn Angara.

According to the College President, ASCOT will provide better facilities to their students, faculty members, and staff, and they are just starting to build, build, build, build and build.

This dormitory is a part of the College’s commitment to give quality service and well-responsive means of education by providing students from other towns and even provinces a comfortable place to live while staying in ASCOT for their education.

On the other hand, the College President also led the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (DFES) Charcoal Briquetting Technology Laboratory attended by the DFES Director Afed Daiwey, VPPF Forester Resueño, Alumni President Valenzuela, and the DFES faculty members.

In the area of the DFES Faculty Office area will rise the ASCOT’s Charcoal Briquetting Technology Laboratory, which aims to study further and innovate charcoal production that will largely help the College and the whole community.
