August 28, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) Casiguran Campus welcomed new and returning students with a General Orientation Program themed “Engage, Learn, and Prosper: Your Adventure Begins Here.” The event aimed to introduce students to the campus environment, academic offerings, and support services, setting the stage for a successful school year.
The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Dan Amiel Moral, setting a positive tone for the day. An inspirational message from Mr. Noriel T. Barangan, MA, IPR Coordinator, followed, encouraging students to make the most of their college journey.
Dr. Mark Joseph R. Rafael, Campus Administrator, provided an overview of the academic programs offered at the Casiguran Campus. He also introduced the dedicated faculty and staff who will guide and support the students throughout their academic careers. Dr. Rafael emphasized the importance of active engagement in academic and extracurricular activities.
The orientation covered essential aspects of student life, including academics, wellness, and safety. Key presentations emphasized the importance of balancing academics with student engagement, support services, and extracurricular activities. Ms. Mardelyn Barrogo, Librarian III highlighted library resources and services. Mr. Jerold M. Moral, the campus nurse, discussed wellness services that support students’ health, while campus security guards Joel Abrio and Joven Tapia outlined safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure a secure campus environment.
The event also featured an open forum where students could ask questions and express concerns, fostering a sense of community and openness. The program concluded with the awarding of certificates to the Dean’s Listers, recognizing students who excelled academically.
