The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT)-Research and Development organized a training workshop on research publication with a focus on Web of Science (ISI) and Scopus (Elsevier)-indexed journals, held from April 18–19, 2024.
ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes, along with distinguished researchers and mushroom experts Dr. Rich Milton R. Dulay and Dr. Sofronio P. Kalaw from Central Luzon State University, served as notable speakers during the workshop. They shared valuable personal experiences and delivered insightful lectures on effective publication strategies.

The workshop’s key highlights included discussions on the importance of integrating gender mainstreaming into research publication, guidance on crafting research articles tailored for publication in Science Citation (SCI) and Scopus Indexed Journals, hands-on practice in writing research papers for publication, and exploration of various research tools and techniques.

The second day of the workshop delved deeper into refining research paper writing skills. Participants enthusiastically showcased their work, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative learning atmosphere.

“We have 40 participants representing various schools, with four participants from each school. Regarding the seminar, I must commend its remarkable efficiency and liveliness. Nearly all participants actively engage, and our guest speakers generously provide individualized feedback on participants’ work. Also, the majority of our attendees have produced outputs, showcasing their research findings through presentations and manuscripts.”, said Dr. Alking B. Gorospe, DIrector for (ASCOT)-Research and Development Office.
