August 28, 2024 — The School of Industrial Technology at Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) held a General Orientation. With the theme “Empowering Career Progression Through a Holistic Educational System,” the college warmly welcomed both new and returning students.
 
In her opening remarks, Ms. Annie R. Capin, Dean of the School of Industrial Technology, highlighted the importance of choosing a courseas a crucial step in career development. Ms. Giandelle M. Maxion, RL, Librarian I, shared the services offered by the library, while Mrs. Genalyn C. Gudoy, RN, discussed the services provided by the Health Services Unit. Through a video presentation, Mrs. Alma S. Bayudan from Student Affairs and Services (OSA) explained various services such as Guidance and Counseling, scholarships, sports development, student publication, and socio-cultural services. She also introduced organizations like the Mental Health Advocates Club and Alab Sining, along with the policies outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. The faculty from different programs within the School of Industrial Technology, including Electrical, Civil, Automotive Engineering Technology, and Food Technology, as well as affiliated faculties, were also recognized.
 
Ms. Flordeliza S. Gutierrez, College Registrar, discussed the services provided by the registrar’s office, including enrollment processes, graduation procedures, student records, and academic regulations. She also noted that the BIT program has the highest number of enrollees, exceeding 1,700 this semester. Meanwhile, Mr. Antonio Bolivar III, CET Program Chair, informed about parking rules and the prohibition of mufflers and horns on campus. Additionally, Mr. Mark Lester Cunanan covered policies on admission, retention, and student academic load within the School of Industrial Technology.
