August 20, 2024 – The SCUFAR III opening program kicked off with a warm reception from Dr. Divina C. Ladrillo, SCUFAR III President, and Dr. Anita G. David, President of Pampanga State Agricultural University. Both leaders underscored the crucial role of support and collaboration from local government and various educational institutions in ensuring the event’s success.

 

Dr. Chester Alexis C. Buama from PAFRT delivered a concise yet powerful address, emphasizing the importance of unity and friendship among State Universities and Colleges (SUCs). The guest of honor, Dr. Zosimo M. Battad, President of the University of the East, further motivated the attendees by highlighting the values of unity, sportsmanship, and camaraderie within academic circles.

 

The ceremony included the hoisting of banners by candidates for Mr. and Ms. SCUFAR from various universities. In a gesture to promote fair play, Mr. Rogelio G. Isip, SCUFAR III 2023 Badminton Singles Champion, led the Oath of Sportsmanship. The participants were also thrilled by an energetic and vibrant cultural dance performance from the talented students.

 

The event concluded with an energizing Zumba session organized by the PSAU Zumba Team, further enhancing the athletes’ enthusiasm and energy.
