September 20, 2024 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) was awarded with Gawad Pasasalamat sa mga Kabalikat sa Pangisdaan by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 3 (BFAR 3). ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes proudly accepted the award on behalf of the college.The award was presented in line with the celebration of the 61st Fish Conservation Week, recognizing ASCOT’s significant contributions to supporting the local fishing community and promoting sustainable practices in the industry.
The event also recognized individual achievements, with ASCOT’s Rudy Lorenzo securing 3rd place in the essay writing contest held during the celebration.
The award and ASCOT’s involvement in Fish Conservation Week show the college’s dedication to protecting our marine resources while supporting the livelihood of local fisherfolks.
