April 12, 2024 – The Aurora State College of Technology concluded it’s month-long celebration of National Women’s Month organized by the ASCOT Gender and Development Unit.
The activity commenced with a welcome message delivered by Malou C. Angara, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and member of the GAD Focal Point System. “Ang mga kababaihan na lumalaban sa buhay. A true ally of all women in this world are men. Ang pag angat ng mga kababaihan ay hindi mag tutuloy kung wala ang mga kalalakihan sa mundo,” Ma’am Malou said.
“Juana Ikaw na Ang Manguna Dance Contest,” the highlight of the culminating activity, showcased the dancing prowess of ASCOT’s various schools. Representing the School of Education, the School of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences, and the School of Information Technology, participants displayed spirited performances, reflecting the diverse talents within ASCOT’s community. The School of Information Technology emerged victorious, bagging the grand prize at the end of the competition.
Maximo M. Marte, Jr., Director of Gender and Development, delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to promote gender equality and empowerment.
The ASCOT celebration served as a reminder of the invaluable contributions of women in all aspects of society and underscored the college’s commitment to fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect.
