Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan, ASCOT’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, garnered the third-place spot for best presenter at the 2024 Annual Launch of Knowledge Products for Adoption and Commercialization (ALOK). Held on April 11, 2024, at Central Luzon State University, the event revolved around the theme “Translating AANR Innovation to Viable Enterprises.”
During her presentation, Dr. Cabatan spotlighted the groundbreaking Boton Pesticide, a collaborative invention with Mr. Jomer Mangawang and Ms. Chenie Mae T. Bibon.
“We discovered a tree called fish poison, or Boton, which serves as an excellent source of bio-pesticide effective in controlling golden snails, or kuhol. Alam naman natin ang pinsalang dinudulot ng kuhol sa ating palayan. The remarkable aspect of Boton Bio Pesticide is its eco-friendly nature, posing no harm to humans,” emphasized Dr. Cabatan.
Concluding her presentation, she declared, “Naghahanap ba kayo ng mabisang pamuksa ng mga pest sa palayan at gulayan?Mag BOTON BIO PESTICIDE na!”
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan and the entire ASCOT team for this well-deserved recognition at ALOK 2024. Their exemplary efforts serve as an inspiration to us all, driving us towards a future of sustainable agriculture and technological innovation.
