For. Mark Christian Facun, ASCOT’s DRRM Officer, set the tone with a warm welcome and an inspiring opening message.

He emphasized the significance of this training, stressing that knowing how to provide basic life support and first aid can be invaluable in times of need. He also highlighted that one of the objectives of this activity is to increase the number of ASCOT personnel who are knowledgeable in basic life support. By the end of the seminar, participants will be awarded a license and certificate for successfully completing the workshop.

Over the next four days, participants will engage in both discussions and practical training on the following topics: Principles of Emergency Care, Introduction to Basic Life Support, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Rescue Breathing (RB) due to respiratory arrest, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction Management, Introduction to First Aid, Medical Emergencies, Environmental Injuries, Trauma Injuries, Special Emergencies, Bandaging, Immobilization, and Transferring the Injured. This hands-on approach will ensure that everyone gains the skills and knowledge they need to potentially save lives in critical situations.

This initiative by ASCOT reflects the institution’s commitment to the well-being of its students and the broader community. The skills learned in this seminar will undoubtedly have a positive impact and may even save lives in the future.
