September 3, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology attends the Round Table Conference and Signing of Memorandum of Agreement between Tertiary Education Institution (TEI) and Schools Division Office of Aurora (SDO)’s Deployment of Pre-service Teachers held at Wesleyan University-Philippines Aurora Extension Campus.
 
The event focused on improving the deployment and training of pre-service teachers. The MOA outlines a plan for better coordinating pre-service teacher placements in local schools and providing them with practical experience.
 
Schools Division Superintendent of Aurora Dr. Dante G. Parungao, CESO V, on his opening message highlighted that this event marks a milestone not just for SDO Aurora but for the entire province. He stated, “Pag-uusapan natin dito kung paano natin bibigyang katuparan ang mga pangarap ng ating mga kabataan.” He compared the teaching process to cooking, saying, “Tulad ng isang kaldero, dapat nakalapat ang takip. Ang kinabukasan ng mga bata ay sa inyo magmumula; kayo ang magluluto at kami naman ang magpapatuloy.”
 
Dr. Charlaw G. Quiben, the SDO-Aurora CID Chief, introduced the participants. This was followed by a summary of feedback on the SY 2023-2024 Practice Teaching, presented by Dr. Vivian M. Carpio, the SDO-Aurora PSDS/PT Focal Person. Atty. Glory Pearl Amwao, the Legal Officer of SDO-Aurora, then presented the Division Unified MOA.
 
Meanwhile, ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes stressed that this success is the result of diligent cooperation between DepEd and various sectors. “Laging two-way ang halaga ng mga ganitong kolaborasyon, because we can benefit from your help, and you can benefit from us too. We can share what we have and receive from our partners,” he said.
 
The MOA was signed by Dr. Renato G. Reyes, ASCOT President,and other College/University Heads: Rev. Dr. Hilario C. Gonzales Jr., Campus Administrator of WU-P Aurora; Rev. Fr. John Anthony C. Losbañes, representing Rev. Fr. Dave D. Capucao, Ph.D., SThD, the Executive Vice President of MCC Baler; Virginia G. Sacrament, School Administrator of MCC Casiguran; and Dr. Dante G. Parunga, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent of Aurora, witnessed by various deans, coordinators, and personnel from the academic institutions.
