Reyes, is making remarkable strides in transforming the ASCOT SHELTER in Sitio Bulos, Barangay Dinadiawan, Dipaculao, Aurora. This project, conceived by Pres. Reyes, stands as a beacon of hope and resilience for the marginalized communities.

The journey began following the aftermath of Typhoon Pepito, when ASCOT’s collaborative efforts and unconditional support came into full force. What started as a mere structure has now evolved into a vibrant hub for sustainable development. The symbolic shelter embodies the ASCOT’ s core values : Dependability, Responsiveness, Empathy, Adaptability, and Mindfulness (DREAM), Beyond traditional feeding programs and donation drives, ASCOT is empowering the community with innovative initiatives anchored on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Residents have received seedlings that can serve as both sources of livelihood and sustenance, along with counseling for parents, words of inspiration, and “Saturday” classes for the children—where they can play, read, and enjoy stories. Faculty members and staff have been actively involved, providing relief packs, organizing donation drives, and making regular visits to Dinadiawan.

On December 21, ASCOT plans to host a simple Christmas party at Sitio Bulos to bring joy to the residents. Dr. Reyes emphasizes that this initiative is a testament to ASCOT’s commitment to genuine service and relevance to marginalized communities. “The ASCOT Shelter marks the beginning of their recovery and a step toward sustainable living,” he shared.

The shelter has become more than just a structure; it’s a testament of the community’s strength and the college’s deep-rooted commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
