Reyes, along with key academic officials, explored potential collaborations with KGKirk Aeronautics Corp. at Laoag International Airport, Ilocos Norte. This partnership aims to introduce immersive training opportunities in engineering and industrial technology, specifically in aircraft maintenance and microcredential programs, aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Quality Education (SDG 4) and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9).
 
KGKirk Aeronautics, a certified Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), is renowned for its expertise in aviation services, including aircraft maintenance, ground handling, and fleet management. Their established On-the-Job Training (OJT) and immersion programs are designed to equip participants with globally relevant skills, ensuring industry readiness.
 
President Reyes envisions a transformative future for ASCOT’s School of Industrial Technology (SoInT) and School of Engineering through this partnership. Plans include integrating specialized aviation courses, enhancing laboratory facilities, and adopting cutting-edge technologies to produce highly skilled graduates ready to excel in local and international industries.
 
Joining President Reyes were Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Engr. Oscar C. Barawid, Jr., PhD, Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Finance; and Engr. Alking Gorospe, PhD, Dean of the School of Engineering. Together, they are paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future for ASCOT and its students.
