Prof. Lolita H. Dela Cruz, ASCOT’s NSTP Director with Ms. Michelle A. Resueño and Ms. Glenda M. Nad, NSTP Facilitators represented the College in the 11th National Congress of NSTP Educators and Implementers held last April 10-12, 2013 at Brokenshire Hotel Resort and Convention Center, Madapo, Davao City.

The aim of the Congres is to appreciate the role of higher education institutions through NSTP and NSRC in mainstreaming climate adaptation and to explore possible climate adaptation measures within the realm of NSTP and NSRC with concepts of national development/security and sustainable development on the background.

The Hon. Antonio “Sonny” F. Trillanes IV, Keynote Speaker addressed this year’s theme “Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) through NSTP and NSRC Towards National Security and Sustainable Development”.

The forum provided diverse and productive ideas and concepts related to Climate Change Adaptation, Role of NSTP and NSRC involving the communities and other stakeholders in climate proofing works like information dissemination and project implementation and Integrating Peace Education to Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation.

The three-day activity also included discussions on Good Governance in the NSTP Program Management, Understanding the Link between NSTP-initiated Voter’s Education in the National and Local Government, and the conduct of actual voter education with the use of PCOS Machine.(CPanlilio)
