ASCOT recently participated in a Focus Group Discussion in connection with the Executive Development Program for State Universities and Colleges (EDPS) on April 22-24, 2013 at Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela.

Aimed at enhancing the capability of administrators of public HEIs to implement strategic reforms and program initiatives, the FGD was attended by key officials of SUC from Northern Luzon where ASCOT was represented by Ms. Maria Lucia A. Ramos for top management, Mr. Christopher G. Marmol and Mr. Sherwin B. Glorioso for Middle Management-Faculty and Ms. Mychelle B. Sanchez and Ms. Syrell P. Uy for Middle Management-Administrative Personnel.

The FGD gathered information, ideas and opinions relative to the possibilities of establishing Career System for SUC, managing the Career System, and the needed competencies and qualifications of key officials of SUCs together with competency enhancement mechanism.The main quest here is to minimize, if not totally get rid of internal and external politics in appointing University/College Officials.
