Aurora State College of Technology’s Director of Socio-Cultural Affairs Unit, Joshua D. dela Cruz, represented the institution at the “Soft Power Network Supporting Thailand and the Philippines” conference held in various locations in Thailand from August 22 to 26, 2023.

In addition to representing ASCOT, Dir. Dela Cruz presented a paper titled “Culture, Beliefs, and Superstitions: The Enhanced Komedya de Baler Experience” and was honored with the prestigious “World Leader Diamond Award” by the Thailand Folklore Festival on August 24, 2023.

The dual conference, attended by esteemed leaders, including presidents and cultural directors from CAASUC III state, colleges and universities, focused on promoting collaboration and ongoing research, fostering international cooperation in knowledge development and education.

During the event, the 13 member state universities and colleges from CAASUC III signed agreements with five Thai educational institutions and five Thai government and non-government agencies, forging partnerships in education, culture, and research.

These collaborations are crucial for ASCOT’s Socio-Cultural Affairs Unit and the institution as a whole, strengthening international connections and providing unique opportunities for students and faculty in cultural exchanges, research projects, and joint academic ventures.
