Dr. Evi Q. Fontanos, New VP for Academic Affairs
The month of July presented refreshing changes in the College as Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, College President designated Dr. Evi Q. Fontanos as the new Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Fontanos is a Professor from the Department of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences and was formerly the Director of the ASCOT Graduate Program, responsible for planning, directing and supervising the over-all implementation of programs, projects and activities of the Graduate Program.

She received her Baccalaureate Degree in Agriculture, her Master in Agricultural Technology Education degree
and her Doctoral Degree in Crop Science, all from Central Luzon State University.

Dr. Fontanos comes with 25 years of teaching experience .She started her career in Aurora National Agricultural School as a Teacher from 1989 to 1995. She joined ASCOT in 1996, where she held various designations such as the Dean of the School of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences; Project Manager for the Tissue Culture Laboratory, ASCOT Nursery Project and Coco R & D; ASCOT Accreditation Coordinator; Chairman of the Local Faculty Evaluation NBC461; Campus Administrator for Bazal Campus; Adviser of the Supreme College Student Council and ASCOT Alumni Association, Inc.; and Director for Auxiliary Services, Agri-Based Income Generating Projects, Research, Department of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences and the Graduate Program.

She actively participates in severe local and international conferences and has also served in various capacities such as a speaker,resource person, organizer in symposia, seminars, congresses, technical committees as well as thesis adviser, critic, evaluator and reviewer. She has also extensively travelled in several countries in Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam attending conferences, educational visits and benchmarking activity where she was able to establish linkages that will strengthen the educational mission and vision of the college.

Dr. Fontanos will play a key role in the implementation of the College’s academic mission with an eye towards diversifying the College through the development and accreditation of the different programs. A woman of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm, she will surely take this already outstanding college to even greater prominence.
