At the conference, ASCOT, led by President Dr. Renato G. Reyes, collaborated with experts in discussions about sustainable ocean solutions, climate resilience, and resource management. A key moment of ASCOT’s involvement was moderating sessions on Coastal Tourism and Genetics & Marine Biotechnology, where Engr. Oscar C. Barawid, PhD (VP for Administration, Planning and Finance), and Atty. Karl Thomas M. Olivar (Head, Legal Unit) shared ASCOT’s insights on marine sustainability.
In addition to its active participation, ASCOT signed a new partnership agreement with IPB University, setting the stage for student exchanges and research collaboration in fisheries and marine science. The ASCOT delegation also toured IPB’s Science Technopark and met with Prof. Dr. Luky Adrianto, Director of the Maritime, Marine, and Fisheries International Research Institute, to explore future initiatives in marine innovation.
ASCOT’s involvement in Inflection 2024 reflects its commitment to international partnerships, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for quality education and partnership-driven global impact.
