August 12, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) was officially welcomed as the newest member of the Central Luzon Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development Consortium (CLIEERDEC) during a meeting held at the Mini Convention Center, NEUST – Sumacab Campus. The event featured opening remarks from Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, Chair of CLIEERDEC and NEUST President.
Key agenda items included the presentation of PCIEERD programs accessible to CMIs, discussions on Institutional Readiness Levels, and reviews of committee guidelines and reports from Research & Development, Human Resources, Commercialization, and Resource Generation. The session also covered the Regional Research and Development Agenda, the Magna Carta for Scientists, and ASCOT’s application to the consortium.
The meeting concluded with planning for the next six months. ASCOT’s inclusion in the consortium marks a significant step toward enhancing collaboration and advancing research and development initiatives in the region. This new membership supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By fostering sustainable industrialization, encouraging innovation, and building strong partnerships, ASCOT aims to contribute to long-term regional growth and development.
