May 1, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology hosted a series of events spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in celebration of the Labor Day. The activities included a Job Fair, awarding of livelihood assistance, TUPAD and SPES Payout, Skills Demonstration, and Allowance Distribution.

Dr. Alma P. Bayudan, Director of Student Affairs Services and ASCOT Job Placement Officer, opened the event with acknowledgments to guests and beneficiaries.

ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes delivered an inspirational message, underscoring the significance of such activities and expressing gratitude to TESDA and DOLE for their support. “Ako ay nagpapasalamat na nandito kayong lahat ngayung umaga. Karamihan sa inyo ngayon ay nandito upang malaman ang mga programa ng gobyerno at para makakuha ng benepisyo ng mga programa ng gobyerno. M ahalaga ang mga ganitong programa, ngunit kailangan din na tayo ay maging positibo at higit sa lahat importante ang paggawa upang matupad ang ating mga mithiin.” President Reyes said.

Ms. Virgilia P. Gomez, Head PESCAYDO; representing Hon. Reynante Tolentino, Governor of Aurora Province, highlighted the Provincial Government’s support for these initiatives. Antonio M. Sicat, Jr., Chief of DOLE Aurora, shared a message from the DOLE Secretary in line with Labor Day celebrations. Cylie Amor G. Litao, TESDA Administrator, also delivered a message in support of the event.

Following the brief program, several activities took place simultaneously: DOLE spearheaded the Awarding of Livelihood Assistance, Entrepreneurial Development Training, TUPAD, and SPES payout. TESDA led the Distribution of financial assistance and Skills Demonstration. ASCOT SAS, alongside partners such as PRU Life UK, Equity Machineries, Green World Solutions, and Bayler View Hotel, facilitated the Job Fair.
