The first College-wide and one of the students’ most anticipated event finally came to a completion last July 04, 2014 at Sentro Baler where ASCOT once again held its annual Induction Ceremony and Acquaintance Party.

The event started with the Doxology performed by the Christian Student Organization and the singing of the National Anthem led by the ASCOT Chorale. An opening remark from the newly appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Evi Q. Fontanos formally welcome the new members of the ASCOT family. An inspiring message from the College
President followed, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to all the students and faculty members who supported the event and helped turn it into a huge success. He also challenged the freshmen by sharing the story of the turtle, the slot, the rabbit and the squirrel.

The introduction of the different accredited student organizations led by the Supreme College Student Council President, Hon. Richard C. Paragas followed, as each took their place in front to be recognized and for the Oath Taking Ceremony administered by the College President, Dr. Eusebio V. Angara.

The Search for Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2014 made things more interesting and kept the attendees attention on stage. Cheers and yells from the supporters echoed inside Sentro Baler as freshman representatives from the six Departments walked on stage and competed for the coveted title of Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2014. Everyone was excited to know the winners of the search but in the end, Mr. Engineering, Kris Angelo Delos Trinos and Ms. General Education, Shirley Flores were hailed Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2014.

Each Department also had their respective presentations that made the event a night to remember. Freshmen representatives showed their talents and awestruck the audience with their song and dance performances. In the end, the Department of Engineering got the 1st Place followed by the Department of General Education and Department of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences in the second and third spot. More than the competition, their performances was a manifestation that ASCOTIANS shines not only in academics but in performing as well.

Certificate of Appreciation were also presented to the Department of Information Technology as the most supportive Department, the Department of Industrial Technology as the most cooperative, the General Education Department as the most punctual and the Department of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences as the most disciplined Department. In addition, ten stunning students were chosen as Faces of the Night.

As colorful lights and smashing music filled the air, additional colors have spread in the event which signaled the start of the socials.
