September 30, 2024 – What a day to remember! The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) celebrated its lively Family Day, wrapping up the 124th Philippine Service Anniversary Month and the RGR Health and Wellness Program.
Kicking off the festivities, ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes expressed his heartfelt thanks to the organizers and attendees. He shared how special these events are for ASCOT employees—both teaching and non-teaching staff—to come together as one big family. “These moments allow us to take a break from work and truly enjoy each other’s company,” he said, setting a joyful tone for the day.
The fun began with a cheering presentation from various teams! The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as a series of fun games unfolded, encouraging friendly competition and lots of laughter. One of the highlights of the day was the lively dance showdown, where representatives from each group showcased their best moves, much to the delight of the cheering crowd. And let’s not forget the singing finals, where talented contestants stole the show! The finalists included Roger Venancio from the Blue Team with his beautiful rendition of “Sa Piling Mo,” Kurt Joshua Bautista from the Purple Team singing “Moonlight Over Paris,” Engr. Noel Manzano from the Black Team performing “Nandito Ako,” and Sir Antonio Bolivar from the Green Team who captivated everyone with “Collide.” Each performance was a reminder of the incredible talent within the ASCOT family!
In keeping with the theme of health and wellness, we also celebrated the winners of the “Biggest Loser Challenge.” Romalyn Ancheta was the star of the show, taking home the grand prize of ?10,000! She shared her inspiring 11 kg weight-loss journey, encouraging everyone to focus on balanced eating and regular exercise.
The singing contest winners were announced too, with Kurt Joshua Bautista taking third place, Sir Antonio Bolivar winning second, and Engr. Noel Manzano claiming the grand prize!
As the event neared its end, the ASCOT Zumba dancers took the stage, everyone with their energetic performance from the recent Civil Service Month Celebration Zumba Competition. The day wrapped up with a lovely closing message from Dr. Gerardo Rillon, who expressed his appreciation for the HR Unit’s hard work in organizing such a wonderful event and shared his excitement for more gatherings like this in the future.
ASCOT’s Family Day was a beautiful reminder of the importance of connection and community. Through all the fun and fitness, employees could unwind, recharge, and strengthen their bonds, contributing to a happier and more productive workplace—an essential ingredient for ASCOT’s continued success.
