Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) is celebrating another milestone as several of its distinguished faculty members have been awarded the Publication Cash Incentive this year. This recognition highlights their contributions to global academic discourse through research published in prestigious international journals.
 
Alfredo C. Padios and Macario V. Tobia have made waves with their article, “Long Distance Lab Affairs: Physics Achievement and Metacognition Effects of Distance Laboratories in a Senior High School in the Philippines.” Featured in the Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education, their study explores how distance laboratories impact physics education and enhance metacognitive skills.
 
Adding to this achievement, Alfredo C. Padios, alongside Sarah Pascua and Antriman Orleans, co-authored “Multimodal Representations Across Scientific Genres: Perspective from Science Teacher’s Practice,” published in the International Journal of Education. This work delves into the diverse methods science teachers employ to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts.
 
Rona Jane N. Cacanindin’s research on “Generational Differences in Job Satisfaction Levels Among Employees of State Colleges in Aurora Province, Philippines” was published in the Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Journal. Her study provides valuable insights into how job satisfaction varies across different generations within academic institutions.
 
In a noteworthy contribution, Dr. RB J. Gallego’s study, “Assets, Threats, and Opportunities in Developing and Sustaining the Management of Forest and Forestland Resources of Baler, Aurora, Philippines,” was featured in Ekologia (Bratislava). This research offers important perspectives on sustainable forest resource management.
 
Jan Orville P. Bautista and Novelyn Buhong explored the “Germination and Survival of Syzygium polycephaloides (C.B. Rob) Merr. (Myrtaceae) under Varying Seed Storage Duration,” with their findings published in the Journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences. Their study focuses on how different seed storage durations affect plant germination and survival rates.
 
Additionally, For. Maria Cristina B. Canada, For. Michelle A. Resueno, and Dr. Eusebio V. Angara investigated the “Sea Cucumber Fishery in Aurora, Philippines,” which appeared in the Open Journal of Ecology. Their research examines the status and dynamics of sea cucumber fisheries in the region.
 
The same journal also featured the collaborative work of Afed S. Daiwey, Heherson B. Ong, Emerson V. Barcellano, Edmundo C. Gumpal, Michelle Ann M. Calubaquib, and Rafael J. Padre on “Biodiversity Assessment of Avifauna in the Forest Reservation of Aurora State College of Technology, Philippines.” This study provides a comprehensive assessment of bird biodiversity within ASCOT’s forest reservation.
