May be an image of 8 people, people studying, table and textOctober 7, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) is holding a three-day training program, Project BriGADa: Bringing GAD Alive, with the theme “Upgrading Capabilities: Training and Retraining of Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) Members and ASCOT Officials.” at AMCO Beach Resort, Brgy. Sabang, Baler, Aurora.
 
Mx. Maximo M. Marte Jr., ASCOT’s Gender and Development Coordinator, opened the program by emphasizing the importance of gender sensitivity within the institution. She called on attendees to work together for a more inclusive society.
Keynote speaker Arlene “Diosa” Idioma Pascual, GAD Director of Bataan Peninsula State University, is set to discuss effective GAD practices and their application in educational institutions.
 
On his speech, ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes shows his support on conducting such seminars for the ASCOT community to be more open and aware with the changing society. “Dito sa ASCOT, intindihin ang kahinaan at kalakasan ng bawat isa. Tulungan mo ako, tutulungan kita. In that case, magiging maganda ang sistema” he quoted.
 
“Sana sa training na ito, magkaroon ng research-based initiative. Every data na iha-handle natin, i-consider natin na research data ito na worth thinking para makagawatayo ng magandang intervention” he added.
 
Attendees are ASCOT’s Academic Deans, unit and office heads, as part of the college’s continuous efforts to align its projects and activities with a gender and development (GAD) perspective.
