November 6, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) has successfully registered its Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) with the Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Aurora. The official registration was celebrated in a ceremony held at the Office of the President in Zabali, Baler, with CSC-Aurora Director II, Ms. Seymour R. Pajares, in attendance.
CSC Director Pajares highlighted the evolving role of the association in uniting the workforce and advocating for positive change within the institution. She emphasized, “You, the Faculty and Staff Association officers, act as partners in service to all our employees, ensuring that merit is upheld and that you become advocates for change. Gone are the days when associations and the administration contradicted each other. Now, you embody a team that embraces progress for everyone’s benefit.”
She further encouraged the association to effectively communicate the terms and benefits of the CNA to its members, stressing that understanding these agreements directly impacts the rights and privileges of ASCOT employees.
ASCOT President Dr. Renato expressed gratitude to the association’s leadership for their dedication to securing the CNA, specifically commending the two association presidents for their commitment and determination. He also shared ASCOT’s ongoing efforts in energy conservation and campus modernization, highlighting steps taken to create a sustainable, resource-efficient environment. “We’ve saved on electricity, strategized to install solar panels, and collaborated with an oil company to advance our smart and green campus vision.” Personally, I use my own vehicle when traveling to Bazal to contribute to our savings. All these efforts mean that this December, everyone will have a little something extra to look forward to as a result of our collective initiative.” said President Reyes.
The event was also attended by Mr. Harold Enrico, Senior Human Resource Specialist of CSC-Aurora, Engr. Oscar C. Barawid, Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Finance, and the officers of ASCOT Faculty and Staff Association led by President Jocelyn H. Diaz, and Vice President Godfrey L. Gudoy.
This milestone further solidifies ASCOT’s commitment to creating a supportive, progressive, and transparent environment for its employees, reinforcing the institution’s dedication to both institutional growth and employee welfare.
