June 18, 2024, Aurora State College of Technology hosted a Workshop and Orientation on the Preparation of Business Plan for the ASCOT Income Generating Project (IGP). The event was organized by Production (IGP) Auxiliary Services headed by Ms. Mardelyn Babilonia-Barrogo and aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance on creating effective business plans.
The program began with a message from Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Finance, Engr. Oscar C. Barawid, PhD. He emphasized the opportunities brought by the IGP, highlighting how it could enhance the college’s financial stability and support various academic and extracurricular activities.

ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes also delivered a message, expressing gratitude to the members of the ASCOT Board of Trustees, Hon. Nancy S. Romano and Hon. Julius Ceazar T. Grefalda. President Reyes highlighted how the four functions of the college—instruction, research, extension, and production—interplay to achieve this goal. “Today, we will be creating models here. Paparamihin natin ang IGP at magpapasok ng mga industry partners” he said.

The entire day’s program focused on the orientation and practical steps for creating a business plan, and the presentation of IGPs by designated project leaders. Ms. Romano presented a comprehensive “Guide to Business Plan Preparation,” while Mr. Grefalda discussed the “Profitability Analysis of Income Generating Projects.” Their presentations provided crucial knowledge and tools for the participants to develop successful business plans.

Following these discussions, project leaders led sessions on the conceptualization and long-term planning for various projects. Also, project leaders presented business plans fror agricultural and non-agricultural based products of ASCOT. The resource persons provide comments and valuable insights after the presentation. This collaborative effort aimed to generate innovative ideas and sustainable plans for ASCOT’s income-generating initiatives.

An open forum concluded the workshop, allowing participants to exchange ideas and ask questions. This interactive session fostered a sense of community and collective learning, encouraging everyone to contribute their thoughts and perspectives.

Cabatan, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Gerardo Rillon, Chief Administrative Officer; Cynthia Macose, Supervising Administrative Officer, Joseph T. Gonzales, Board Secretary V; Ms. Mardelyn B. Barrogo, Director of the Office of Production (IGP) and Auxiliary Services; along with the ASCOT Directors and Unit Heads.
