Casiguran, Aurora —August 1, 2024, representatives from the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) attended the inauguration ceremony of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority’s (APECO) latest infrastructure projects. The event celebrated the opening of the Sewage Treatment Plant Phase 1, the Fire Station, and the Boat Cafe, highlighting APECO’s commitment to sustainable development and community progress.
ASCOT’s participation underscores its commitment to supporting regional growth and fostering partnerships that benefit both institutions and the broader community. Following the ceremony, ASCOT representatives held discussions with APECO officials to explore future collaborations aimed at enhancing educational, economic, and environmental initiatives.

ASCOT representatives present were: Mr. Antonio D. Bolivar III – Assistant Professor II; Atty. Karl Thomas Olivar – Head, Legal Unit; Arch. Karl Kelvin O. Minoza – Head, Project Management Unit; Maria L. Cezil L. Molina – Head, Planning Unit. Also present were Rev. Ariel Loterte, Parish Priest of San Antonio de Padua, Barangay Captains, and the chieftains of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Groups.
The joint working group formed by ASCOT and APECO will focus on leveraging their strengths to promote sustainable development in line with Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This partnership aims to create impactful opportunities that will contribute to the growth and prosperity of the Aurora region.
