June 21, 2024 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) and the Philippine Institute of Cybersecurity Professionals (PICSPro) recently met to discuss a new partnership aimed at tackling the growing need for cybersecurity experts and research.

Leading the discussion were ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes and PICSPro National President Angel T. Redoble. They focused on three main areas: developing a cybersecurity curriculum, professional development, and research. The goal is to improve cybersecurity education and practice.

Key attendees included Ruby Dagli, PICSPro National Vice President; Roma V. Herminigildo, PICSPro Aurora Chapter VP for Events; Joseph T. Gonzales, ASCOT Board Secretary; and Dr. Mayreen V. Amazona, Dean of the School of IT. Also present were ASCOT School of IT and PICSPro Aurora Chapter officers: Sherwin B. Glorioso, President; Cristelita P. Lombres, Vice President for Membership; and Von Gerald Macose, Vice President for Strategic Alliance and Partnership.

This partnership aims to create a strong foundation for cybersecurity training and research. By working together, ASCOT and PICSPro hope to significantly boost the cybersecurity field and prepare professionals to handle new cyber threats effectively. This collaboration also promotes SDG 4: Quality Education by developing a comprehensive cybersecurity curriculum and enhancing professional development, aiming to provide quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
