The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) School of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology – Region III (DOST-Region III), is set to host the “Pushing the BOTON On: A Tree Planting Activity for a Cause.” This environmental initiative will take place on July 6, 2024, at the ASCOT Bazal Campus in Barangay Bazal, Maria Aurora, Aurora.
The tree planting activity aims to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement. Key officials from ASCOT will attend the event, including College President Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ma. Luz F. Cabatan, Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Finance Dr. Oscar C. Barawid Jr., and Mr. Julius Caesar T. Grefalda, ASCOT Board of Trustee Private Sector Representative.
The event will also be graced Mr. Arnold B. Novicio, Provincial Agriculturist from the Provincial Government of Aurora; Ms. Maricel M. Sicat, Provincial Director of DOST-PSTC Aurora; Mr. Aldrin M. Veneracion, Provincial Director of DTI-Aurora; and Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, Regional Director of DOST III.
This activity supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), including SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15:Life on Land.
The “Pushing the BOTON On” tree planting activity is a step towards a greener future, highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship and collaboration among educational institutions, government agencies, and the community.
